The Pomsky is a designer mix combining the small breed Pomeranian with the large breed Siberian Husky. This size difference requires artificial insemination with the female of the breeding pair to be the Husky to ease pregnancy and delivery. Due to the extreme differences in these two breeds, it is hard to generalize size. Ideally, he will have Husky looks with Pomeranian size.

Self-assured and smart, this mix is protective of his family and makes great guard dogs. Both breeds tend to be stubborn and headstrong, so start training as early as possible. They make loving companions, preferring to be romping and playing with their people. They are smart dogs who need lots of stimulation and attention to avoid boredom.

Pomsky size is unpredictable, ranging from 10-30 pounds. These dogs are highly energetic and love to be active. Plan to keep him stimulated, both physically and mentally.

Care & Grooming

The Pomsky’s double coat is soft and fluffy, shedding moderately year round.  Be ready for them to “blow coat” twice a year. Brushing will be frequent to care for all that fluff and prevent matting. The thick coat can cause overheating, so monitor your pet in warmer weather.
