Mini Goldendoodle Breed Overview

The Mini Goldendoodle is a cross of a Toy or Miniature Poodle and a Golden Retriever. Specifically,  two very smart breeds which result in a highly desirable, family friendly, and all around adorable dog. Since the early 2000’s they have gained widespread popularity for their smarts and cuteness. Accordingly they are devoted companions and wonderful with kids. Another point is they are half the size of their cousins the Goldendoodle, which makes them a great mobile companion.

Life Expectancy

The life expectancy of the Mini Goldendoodle is 12-16 years.

Size & Activity Level

The Mini Goldendoodle can weigh anywhere from 25 to 35 pounds, males being on the heavier end. They are robust, full of energy and they live to play. Intelligent and eager to learn can make training a breeze. Tons of play time can help in burning off all that energy. These pups do well in apartments, but frequent walks will be necessary.

Care & Grooming

To start with, Mini Goldendoodles do require a a bit of grooming. Most are considered non-shedding and hypoallergenic. However,  since they are a mix breed, they can take on the trait of either parent. Poodles do not shed, but Golden Retrievers do. With that said it can be a gamble on who they favor.
