Life Expectancy

The life expectancy of the Maltipoo is 13-16 years.

Size & Activity Level

Maltipoo can range in size from 8 to 15 pounds. This depending if bred with a Toy Poodle, or the larger Miniature Poodle. Apartment living is totally acceptable with a few good walks per day. They are bouncy and playful, so make sure they have plenty of balls and toys on hand. In fact, these babies have the smarts of a Poodle!  In short training can be a breeze. Also, they love company. That being said, they get on well with other dogs, cats, and kids. Their “teddy bear” look makes them irresistible and snuggly.

Care & Grooming

Maltipoos are a great choice for allergy sufferers. For one thing, they are naturally hypo-allergenic. Therefore, shedding is very minimal. Depending upon which breed they favor, hair can be either curly, wavy, straight or more Poodle-like. Their colors can vary to pretty whites, reds, blacks and parti colors.

Daily brushing is suggested. Keeping a short haircut is advisable to lower overall maintenance. Monthly professional grooming is strongly suggested. However, their small size makes them fairly easy to maintain. Ultimately, they are an overall healthy mix.  Always contact your vet for more information.
