Yochon

Friendly, Smart, Playful

Overview

A Yochon is a small mixed dog. They are the combination of the Yorkshire Terrier and Bichon Frise. This happy go lucky mixed was bred to be a companion animal, who bonds closely with the family. With that said, they love everyone. As with every mix, appearance and temperament can vary. However, this mix is particularly cute. The Yorkie is rather independent, while the Bichon is more attentive. Whichever parent they favor, they make fun companions and excellent pals for all age groups. A Yochon is smart and loves learning new tricks. In particular, they enjoy playtime with children and joining in on family activities. Yochons are very social and love to be the center of attention. This mix makes a good watchdog, happy to bark at anything suspicious while keeping you alert to intruders. Yochon

Life Expectancy

The life expectancy of the Yochon is 10 to 14 years.

Size & Activity Level

YocChons can vary in size, but most will mature somewhere between 7 and 18 pounds. Notably, they are energetic, playful and unusually happy little guys. In addition, they are always eager to go for a walk or romp in the yard. This mix can get a lot of their exercise needs met while playing in the house. A small play pen will keep them safe from mischief.

Care & Grooming

The Yochon has a full coat, needing frequent brushing to avoid matting. Haircuts are a must, especially around the face and eyes. They are considered hypoallergenic dogs, with low shedding and low dander. Housebreaking is sometimes challenging, so playpen training is a good idea with the Yochon.
