The West Highland Terrier is a small hardy terrier. The Westie is a joyful, feisty breed. This breed is a quick learner and responds readily to positive training. This big dog in a little body has a "what's in it for me?" attitude. The Westie is a very social breed and makes a great family companion. They are fun loving and confident. The Westie has a strong prey drive toward small animals. He loves to chase, and should always be kept on a leash or in a secure area.
