American Bulldog Breed Overview

The American Bulldog is muscular, powerful, more agile, and faster, than their English cousin.  That said, they are taller, and have a longer snout, which ultimately leads to better health.  In fact, they are brave and protective to their family, while being strong pack leaders.  Additionally, they adore kids and love being involved with their families all the time. Despite their fierce look, the American Bulldog is quite opposite. They are gentle and loving to known people while being excellent guard dogs toward strangers. The life expectancy of the American Bulldog is 11-15 years. They are part of the Working Group.

Size & Activity Level

American Bulldogs can vary greatly in size, from dog to dog. Hence, the range can be 60-120 pounds. A high-energy breed that will do best in a secure yard or having a park nearby. If apartment living is necessary, several long walks per day will be needed to keep him in top form. To conclude, owners with an active lifestyle are well suited partners.
